Introduction
Hey, I'm Brandon (btea), a teenager who's been around computers my whole life. I'm into Linux, networking, and malware analysis. I've been running a homelab for a while now, basically playing sysadmin — and I've been focused on leveling up my C++ and frontend skills after spending most of my time in Python.
My hardware
- Desktop: 9800X3D + 9070 XT, 64GB RAM. Dual-booting Arch and Windows, mostly Arch.
- Laptop: HP Omen with a Ryzen 7 7840HS and RTX 4070. The NVIDIA dGPU is disabled in BIOS for Linux. Swapped the Realtek 8852CE WiFi card for an Intel AX210 due to stability issues. I used AI to reverse engineer the WMI fan protocol for this board and built a kernel module for fan control.
- Server: Raspberry Pi 5 with a Waveshare NVMe hat running Debian. Static IP on the LAN, nginx serving this site.
What I'm doing right now
Recently built a bash security auditor for Linux server hardening (server-audit), and the fail2ban log enrichment tool. Still teaching myself C++ and tweaking this site.
